In the east of the Indonesian island of Java, the awakened volcano Semeru, by the way, the highest on this island, is raging.

According to local rescuers, at least 57 islanders were injured, most of them with burns.
Many victims of the ferocious volcanic eruption have been hospitalized – they are currently in hospitals.
According to online sources, as a result of the eruption, at least 11 settlements of the island were covered with volcanic ash.
More than 900 people were evacuated from the area in distress.
It is noted that rescuers are hampered by smoke, lack of electricity, and heavy rains that hit Java.
