A catastrophic flood hit Germany. As a result of the flood, 20 people died, about 70 citizens are listed as missing.

Prolonged heavy downpours in the west and southwest of the country led to large-scale flooding.

As a result of bad weather, several rivers overflowed their banks, including the Rhine, flooding the streets of populated areas.

According to online sources citing German media, six houses collapsed near the city of Adenau in the commune of Schuld, and several more are at risk of collapse.

According to data available at this time, two firefighters drowned while rescuing people in the North Rhine-Westphalia region.

Let us add that heavy rains began in Germany on July 12. The cause of the raging disaster is said to be the cyclone Bernd.

By the way, yesterday, July 14, heavy rains and thunderstorms hit some regions of Belarus. This also resulted in flooding.

For example, the city of Smorgon (Grodno region), judging by photos and videos on social networks, looked more like Venice.

There, the streets turned into rivers, along which some people moved in an unusual means of transport – an inflatable boat. And some people used a stand-up paddleboard.

And Minsk suffered. Several streets were flooded, including Y. Kolasa and Volgogradskaya.
