28 people may be involved in the assassination of the President of Haiti: their citizenship has been revealed

Law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Haiti have named suspects in the murder of the country’s President Jovenel Moise.

According to Haitian law enforcement officials, former soldiers from Colombia may be involved in the crime.

In addition, two US citizens could have participated in the murder of the politician. The total number of suspects is 28.

The corresponding statement was made by Diego Molano, head of the Haitian Ministry of National Defense, news agencies report.

It is noted that 22 participants in the assassination of the Haitian President have already been identified. Of these, 7 were liquidated during detention.

The search for the remaining suspects continues. Colombia promised Haitian authorities to help find the criminals.

Assassination of the President of Haiti

Jovenel Moïse was killed on Wednesday, July 7, in his own residence. The politician was shot dead by people who broke into the building.

The widow of the President of Haiti, Martine Moise, was also injured. She was taken to a health care facility. At the moment, the woman’s condition is assessed as stable.

In connection with the incident, martial law was introduced in Haiti for two weeks.
