At least 29 Chinese military aircraft entered Taiwan’s air defense identification zone on June 21.

Strategic bombers were also involved in the operation.

Which aircraft entered Taiwan’s air defense zone?

According to the Taiwanese Ministry of Defense, the operation involved 6 H-6 strategic bombers, 8 J-16 fighters, 5 J-11s and 4 Su-30s, a Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft, a Y-8 electronic reconnaissance aircraft, a Y-9 electronic warfare aircraft, 2 KJ-500 airborne early warning and control aircraft and a Y-20 tanker.

In response, the Taiwanese Ministry of Defense scrambled fighter jets, and air defense monitored targets.

In recent months, Chinese military aircraft have regularly crossed Taiwan’s air defense zone to conduct exercises in the region.

The largest operation this year was the one that took place on January 23, when 39 aircraft entered Taiwan’s air defense zone.
