A Canadian woman stopped feeling hungry after a stroke.

The girl stopped eating because she did not understand that it was time to eat – her body simply did not give her such signals.

As foreign websites write, a 28-year-old Canadian resident was hospitalized with paralysis and speech impairment. She was diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke of the left insular part of the brain.

The doctors managed to quickly put the patient on her feet. The girl was discharged from the hospital, but she continued to feel unwell.

It turned out that for several months after being discharged from the hospital, the Canadian simply ate food occasionally, which is why she felt unwell.

She ate few calories, but did not feel hungry, there were no physiological signals about this. Over the course of a year, the girl lost 10 kg.

Scientists from the University of Montreal have linked this syndrome to stroke. This is the first such case in history. Although science knows that the insular part of the brain is responsible for appetite.
