The United States, together with its G7 allies, is introducing a ban on the maritime transportation of Russian oil.
The restrictive measure on transportation of energy resources from the Russian Federation by this method will come into force on December 5 of this year.
A ban on similar transportation of Russian petroleum products is also being introduced – from February 5, 2023.
MIA Rossiya Segodnya reported this with reference to a statement from the US Treasury Department.
The ban on the transportation of crude oil by sea comes into force on December 5, 2022, on the sea transportation of petroleum products – on February 5, 2023, the department said in a statement.
However, it is possible that exceptions will be made.
For example, the ban may not affect supplies that fall within the price ceiling determined by the G7 countries.
