A building collapsed in Miami. Almost 100 people are missing

In the American city of Miami (Florida), a high-rise apartment building collapsed.

At least three people died as a result of the incident, and about 99 more residents were missing.

The American television channel ABC News reported this, citing a high-ranking official.

In turn, Miami police report that one of the victims of the incident was the tenant.

It is noted that the 12-story building Champlain Towers South, located in the coastal town of Surfside (actually a district of Miami), collapsed.

This happened on Thursday night. Search and rescue operations are currently underway.

The exact number of residents is still unknown – the police are collecting the necessary information, including finding out whether the 99 missing people were in the house at the time of the collapse.

According to available information, this building contains 135 apartments, of which 55 collapsed.

According to preliminary data, 35 residents were rescued, and two more were pulled out from under the rubble.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency in the state following the house collapse.

It is noted that the National Guard may be involved in the rescue operation.
