A bus got into an accident near Ryazan: five were killed, dozens were injured

In the Ryazan region of Russia, early in the morning of January 2, a terrible accident occurred involving a passenger bus.

As a result, five people died and dozens received injuries of varying severity.

As reported by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Ryazan region, the incident occurred at approximately 05:45 (the time coincides with the Belarusian time).

The location of the accident is the 277th kilometer of the P22 “Caspian” highway near the village of Voslebovo, Skopinsky district.

At the indicated time, a Neoplan regular bus was moving there – traveling from Moscow to Astrakhan.

According to preliminary information, at some point during the movement, this vehicle ran into a railway bridge support.

As a result, five people died, including a 47-year-old bus driver.

21 people were injured. Two minors were also injured. In total there were 49 passengers on the bus.

Police are currently working at the scene of the accident. All the circumstances of the tragedy are being clarified.

A criminal case has been opened into the fatal accident. An investigation is underway, the department’s press service noted.
