The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan announced the suppression of an attempt to forcibly seize power in the country.

According to the department, the plans of a group of people regarding the implementation of a coup d’etat in the country after the parliamentary elections were revealed.

At the moment, it is known that the group included deputies and other former high-ranking officials, reports.

Kyrgyzstan’s intelligence services became aware of the activities of a group of people interested in organizing a violent seizure of power.

Deputies and ex-officials planned to organize mass protests in Bishkek.

A provocation was planned to bring the population into conflict with the security forces.

The “actives” of the revolutionaries included a group of thousands, consisting of aggressive youth.

At the moment, it is known that 15 people who are preparing a coup have been detained.

The houses and offices of the detainees were searched by the special services, during which documents, weapons, ammunition, and drugs were found.

The names and surnames of the detainees are not disclosed – investigative measures are underway.

A criminal case has been opened. The affiliation of other persons with the impending crime is established.

The actions of the detainees will be given a legal assessment.

Parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan are scheduled for November 28.
