Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London has issued a warrant for the extradition of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the United States.

In the US, Assange faces 175 years in prison.

This is stated in a statement from Westminster Magistrates’ Court issued on April 20.

Now the case of Assange’s extradition to the United States, where he is accused of crimes related to the largest case of disclosure of classified information in the country’s history, and where he faces 175 years in prison, will be referred to British Foreign Secretary Priti Patel for consideration.

If she allows extradition, Assange will have the opportunity to challenge the decision in the High Court in London.

Addressing Assange, the judge said he had no choice but to make that decision and refer the case to Patel.

So that she can decide whether to extradite you or not, – the judge said, noting that Assange has the right to appeal to the High Court.

The judge clarified that an appeal cannot be filed until the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs makes a decision and that Assange must remain in prison.
