In the capital of Lithuania, as well as in the city of Kaunas, the country’s authorities introduced a curfew.

The corresponding regime was practiced during the military exercises “Perkūnas Thunder”.

The TASS agency reported this with reference to the command of the Lithuanian army.

At the same time, the local military reassures their civilian compatriots: the measures that were supposed to be carried out as part of the curfew “will not affect normal life.”

This is an internal training for the military to practice the necessary procedures,” explained Major Donatas Sukhockas, a representative of the Lithuanian General Staff.

The curfew in the above cities started on May 7 at ten o’clock in the evening (the time coincides with Belarusian time), and ended today at five in the morning.

According to local media, the regime operated only in some outlying areas of Vilnius and Kaunas.

During the mentioned period of time, military and police officers were on duty on the streets and roads, as well as at specially equipped checkpoints of these two cities.

They had the authority to stop vehicles and demand that passers-by present documents for inspection.

In addition, during the curfew, security forces paid increased attention to the protection of administrative buildings and other strategically important facilities.

Previously, more than 10 NATO soldiers were parachuting.
