27views

On October 17, a street protest against the mistreatment of refugees takes place in Warsaw.

The demonstration is held under the slogan: “Stop torture at the border.”

The action started at Charles de Gaulle Square. Demonstrators have formed a column and are marching through the streets of the Polish capital.

Protesters chanted “Shame” and “No to torture at the border.”

The demonstration is monitored by the police. Due to the protest, several streets had to be closed.

What are the demonstrators demanding?

The protesters accuse the country’s authorities of not allowing migrants into the asylum procedure, not providing them with medical care, and illegally transporting them to the border with Belarus.

Polish authorities have been taking measures for almost 2 months that have killed at least 6 people seeking asylum in Poland and Europe– said in a statement from the organizers of the action.

Demonstrators demand an end to violence against refugees and provide them with asylum.
