The administration of the Chinese city of Wuhan has decided to begin mass screening of the population to detect signs of coronavirus infection in order to prevent a new outbreak.
The reason for conducting a large-scale inspection in the region was recently identified cases of COVID-19 infection.
As part of the event, total emergency testing of all city residents will be organized.
The corresponding statement was made by the Deputy General Secretary of the city administration during a conversation with journalists.
Media reports that the authorities intend to complete the survey as soon as possible, for which they will act quickly and decisively.
The decision was made after new cases of infection became known in Wuhan and Hubei province.
For the first time in a long time, doctors have identified 14 cases of infection, 8 of which are in Wuhan.
