A man died in a tent city set up by protesting medical workers in front of the government building in Warsaw.

At some point, a shot was fired and a 70-year-old man was wounded in the face, after which he was hospitalized. But, despite this, it was not possible to save the wounded man’s life.

The incident occurred during a protest by health workers. The tent camp in the center of Warsaw was set up a week ago.

The demonstrators, including not only medical workers, but also rescuers, demand improved working conditions, the introduction of additional leaves, and bringing the minimum basic salary to the level of the average European one.

The day before, protesters gathered for a press conference, which had to be interrupted after a gunshot.

From the details it is known that one of the protesters was injured.

A 70-year-old man was taken to hospital with facial injuries. It was not possible to save him, TASS quotes a message from local law enforcement officers.

The Ministry of Health has already calculated that fulfilling the demands of the demonstrators in the future will cost $27.5 billion, despite the fact that the system’s budget does not exceed $31.5 billion.
