Epidemiologists in the Indian state of Maharashtra issued a statement that a new mutation of coronavirus infection has been discovered in the region.

Currently, 20 cases of infection have been reported. The next mutation of the new type of coronavirus was assigned the index B.1.617.2.1 and the name “delta plus”.
