On September 18, a rally took place in Yerevan for Armenia’s withdrawal from the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

Armenians held a rally against the backdrop of a visit to the country by Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.

Also in Armenia is currently an advance group of the CSTO mission, which arrived in the country due to the aggravation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

What do the protesters demand?

As reported, several hundred activists, including employees of organizations financed by Western foundations, came out to the rally on Freedom Square.

Also seen at the rally were members of the National United Pole, the political wing of the paramilitary group Sasna Tsrer.

We have gathered here with one single agenda: to demand from the government that we leave the CSTO,” sociologist Karen Sargsyan said at the rally.

According to him, after leaving the CSTO, Armenia will begin negotiations to ensure the country’s security with its real allies.
