A tanker carrying 1.4 million liters of fuel oil sank off the Philippines, leaving one person missing

Recently it became known that a tanker sank off the coast of the Philippines, a popular tourist destination.

The vessel transported 1,400,000 liters of fuel oil. 16 people were rescued from the ship, another is listed as missing.

MIA Rossiya Segodnya reported this with reference to Agence France-Presse, which in turn refers to a statement by local authorities.

According to this information, the incident took place on Thursday, July 25. The tanker capsized near the capital of the island state, the city of Manila.

We managed to rescue 16 of the 17 people on the ship, one person was missing,” said Philippine Transport Secretary Jaime Bautista.

Currently, experts are making attempts to get rid of the fuel oil that has entered the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
