A village in the United States is filled with coffins from a local cemetery

Residents of the village of Ironton (Louisiana, USA) had to clear the streets of the town from coffins that were brought from the local cemetery.

All these are the consequences of Hurricane Ida, which citizens have been struggling with for a whole month. Ritual supplies from the cemetery were brought by high water.

As reported by The Independent, in a town located near one of the main rivers of America – the Mississippi – the elements destroyed a dam.

The structure could not withstand the onslaught of wind and water flows. Hurricane Ida, which burst into the United States, destroyed houses in Ironton, and streams of water carried coffins from a devastated churchyard along with mud and grass into the city.

Local residents have been cleaning up the aftermath of the disaster for a month now and complain that the job is far from over.

According to preliminary estimates, the water destroyed about 30-40 places of final resting place on earth, leaving coffins along with the remains of the dead on the street.

The most difficult thing in this situation, according to experts, is searching for relatives of the deceased whose graves were destroyed by the hurricane.

Let us note that the head of the settlement appealed to President Biden for help.

This is not the first hurricane to hit Ironton. In 2005, Katrina swept through here, after which part of the population left the town.

Today no more than 150 people live here.
