On Saturday, September 3, a rally took place in the Czech capital.

According to estimates by Czech law enforcement agencies, about 70 thousand people took part in the procession.

The reason why people took to the streets of Prague was expensive gas.

The protesters put forward a demand for the Czech government to solve the problems that caused inflation and rising prices within the next month.

If this requirement is not met, the event participants promised to announce “pressure actions.”

Statements from rally participants

Many famous Czech figures took part in the procession that took place yesterday in Prague.

One of them, expert Vladimir Stepan, said that the “pro-Brussels” activities of the Czech government will lead to a further rise in energy prices.

The specialist believes that the Czech Cabinet should begin negotiations with Russia.

There were also calls to abandon sanctions against the Russian Federation and stop arms supplies to Kyiv.

The outcome of the event was the adoption of a resolution. The rally participants called for the resignation of the Cabinet if it does not solve the problems in the energy sector.

The protesters also called for the authorities to provide assistance to Czech citizens and for the country to adopt a neutral status in the military sphere.

Reaction of the Czech authorities

The head of the Czech government, Petr Fiala, said that the organizers of the rally were “pro-Russian forces.”

Czech Interior Minister Vit Rakušan said he took the rally seriously.

We are looking for solutions that will reduce people’s fears for their future, – MIA quotes Rakushan as saying.

It is noted that no dangerous situations arose during the rally: law enforcement officers did not have to take serious measures.
