AC: The US Congress may not approve aid to Ukraine even at the beginning of 2024

The US Congress may not approve aid to Ukraine even early next year.

This was reported by the American publication The American Conservative.

Why Congress May Not Approve Aid to Ukraine

According to the report, the consideration by Congress of a request to provide additional funding to Ukraine in isolation from support for Israel or security at the US border risks that assistance to Kyiv will not be approved even in early 2024.

At the same time, according to the publication, Republicans are ready to “tear to shreds” the bill proposed by Republican Minority Leader in the Senate Mitch McConnell on combined funding for Ukraine and Israel.

If McConnell wants to give Ukraine a big Christmas gift, border security commitments must be strong enough, the publication says.

Congressman Mike Lee told the publication that the administration of US President Joseph Biden, by forcing the Senate to write a hefty check to Ukraine, is ignoring national security needs.

The article also cites the opinions of Senator Rick Scott, who called the Biden administration’s policies lawless, and Congressman Chip Roy, who proposed banning mention of Ukraine in Congress until the White House takes up protection of the borders from migrants.

If I were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, I would make it clear that Ukraine will not receive a single dollar, – Roy stated.
