The PRTB candidate, Pablo Marçal, canceled all his schedules this Monday (16) after being attacked by José Luiz Datena (PSDB) with a chair during the TV Cultura debate.
According to Pablo Marçal’s communications advisor, Luma Vidal, the candidate has difficulty breathing, is in a lot of pain and underwent a CT scan in the last few hours.
The press office also reported that Marçal arrived by ambulance in a few minutes at the Sírio-Libanês hospital, in São Paulo, and is not expected to be discharged.
The candidate’s legal department states that it has already filed a police report against Datena due to the attack and that, according to Marçal’s lawyer, the “right thing to do would be for the candidate to have been arrested in the act”.
Furthermore, the defense states that the police report was due to bodily injury and insults made by Datena. The campaign will represent and ask for accountability in the Electoral Court.
The campaign also asked for increased security for the candidate at the hospital facilities, following the news that Datena was also on her way to the institution to receive medical care.
