After Gazprom’s statement, panic began in Europe

After Gazprom’s announcement to reduce gas transit volumes via Nord Stream to 33 million cubic meters per day, panic began in Europe.

Jacob Paul, a columnist for the British newspaper Express, noticed a negative phenomenon in the countries of the Old World.

According to him, the heads of energy departments of the European Union states immediately responded to the Russian concern’s message.

The ministers plan to hold a joint meeting in Brussels on Wednesday, July 27.

The journalist has information that the EU’s emergency plan will be discussed at this event, implying the launch of emergency measures aimed at saving blue fuel.

This is precisely the development of events that the European Commission feared, according to an article by MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

Earlier it was reported that in Europe, due to the gas shortage, they are calling for the launch of Nord Stream 2.

Let us recall that last month Gazprom reduced the volume of gas supplied via Nord Stream to 40%, justifying the decision by the delay in the return of the turbine from repairs.

The latter is now in Germany, where it was delivered from Canada in early July.

Nord Stream resumed operations on July 21 after scheduled maintenance.

Four days later, Gazprom announced the cessation of operation of another turbine, and therefore supplies via Nord Stream are reduced to 20% from July 27 (to 33 million cubic meters per day).

After this statement, the price of gas on stock exchanges surged sharply, reaching the level of $1,880.
