with the aim of listening to experts, regulatory entities, government bodies and representatives of civil society on the topic.
Afterwards, he will submit the action to the plenary, where he and the other ten ministers will be able to vote. He adopted the so-called “abbreviated rite”, signaling that he will not decide individually.
The action was filed by the National Confederation of Commerce in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC). The allegation is that the law increased the betting market and household debt.
The result of a mobilization by the federal government, the betting law was approved by Congress and sanctioned by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in December 2023.
