Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, upon returning from New York, may hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin regarding a grain deal.

During the conversation, Erdogan may reveal details of negotiations with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and other world leaders.

RIA Novosti that this message was conveyed by a source in the administration of the leader of Turkey.

The UN Secretary General previously announced that his plans include a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Turkish President Recep Erdogan and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

High-level meetings will be held on September 19-26, 2023 – Sergei Lavrov has been appointed head of the Russian delegation.

RIA Novosti’s interlocutor noted that Erdogan already intended to have a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin.

He added that these negotiations could take place after the arrival of Recep Erdogan from the United States, where the issue of resuming the grain deal will be discussed.
