Aircraft takes off and FAB begins mission to repatriate Brazilians in Lebanon | Blogs

The first Brazilian Air Force (FAB) aircraft used in the repatriation operation of Brazilians in Lebanon took off in the early hours of this Wednesday (2) from Galeão Air Base, in Rio de Janeiro.

It is the first phase of the operation amid the escalation of the war between Israel, Hamas and Hezbollah, which dominates the south of the country.

The KC-30 was authorized to leave Rio at 0:30 am with two crews on board. They are made up of pilots, mechanics and flight attendants. A health team, with a doctor, nurse and psychologist, is part of the group and will provide the first service to Brazilians.

A, where he will wait until the Lebanese authorities give him permission to proceed to the country. One crew will remain in Portugal and the aircraft will depart for Beirut with the other team, once the flight is released.

In Beirut, the crew will board passengers, their pets and luggage. The aircraft will return to Portugal without needing to be refueled in Lebanon. In the Portuguese capital, crew changes and refueling will take place.

The one that traveled to Beirut will stay in Lisbon and the one that was left in Lisbon on the way out will embark back to Brazil. If there are new flights in the operation, the Lisbon team will remain in the city waiting for the next aircraft to depart.
