Airport in Japan closed due to missing scissors

An unusual incident happened on the Japanese island of Hokkaido, where they were forced to close the Shin-Chitose airport.

The work of the entire air harbor was suspended for the reason that scissors disappeared here.

In this regard, safety checks began, TASS agency citing NHK TV channel.

According to available information, the incident took place last Saturday, August 17.

Terminal staff received a notification that a pair of scissors had been lost in one of the stores located in the departure area.

The incident was assessed as a situation posing a terrorist threat.

The airport management decided to conduct an emergency security check – they admitted the possibility of theft of scissors with the aim of bringing them on board the plane.

The check took two hours. 25 flights had to be cancelled, and about two hundred more were delayed.

The ill-fated scissors were found the next day in the same store.

Japanese authorities demanded that airport managers take all appropriate measures to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.
