Almost 10,000 people. Teachers go on strike in Estonia

Estonia plunged into the abyss of a major strike organized by teachers of almost 10,000 people.

Teachers employed in secondary schools across the country are on strike.

According to the state broadcaster ERR, the reason for the strike announced by teachers was disagreement with the current level of salaries.

In other words, teachers in this Baltic country are demanding that their wages be increased, – TASS.

In particular, campaigners want their minimum monthly wage to be increased to 1,950 euros.

Because the consequence of high workload against the backdrop of low salaries is a growing shortage of teachers, explains ERR.

According to the Union of Education Workers, 9,470 teachers from 330 schools are participating in the strike.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Estonia announced to lead NATO.
