Already over $1,600. Gas prices have been updated in Europe

27views

In Europe, recent days have been marked by new gas price records.

Wednesday, October 6, was no exception. A new record is more than $1,600 per 1,000 cubic meters.

This price level was recorded by the November natural gas futures in Europe at today’s opening of trading, as evidenced by the ICE exchanges.

The new gas price is an absolute record. In other words, on October 6, 2021, a historical maximum was recorded.

According to available data, on Wednesday morning the price of blue fuel rose to $1,606 per 1,000 cubic meters.

For comparison: the day before, the cost of the indicated volume of gas was slightly more than $1,450.

Let us remind you that last week the price of blue fuel in Europe for the first time went beyond a thousand dollars.

According to experts, the rise in gas prices in Europe is due to small reserves of blue fuel in gas storage facilities, which in turn is associated with last year’s cold winter and hot summer.

Experts also say that due to low reserves in underground storage facilities this winter, gas prices in European countries may remain extremely high for a long time.
