Already this year, the West may transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine – Pentagon

The Pentagon said that the West could transfer F-16 fighter-bombers to Ukraine as early as this year.

Together with them, Kyiv can be provided with equipment to service these air combat vehicles.

This information was shared with the general public by Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Celeste Wallander.

According to Ms. Wallander, the program also includes pilot training, technician training, ammunition and spare parts for aircraft, and related infrastructure.

Separately, she noted that the program for training Ukrainian pilots to work on the F-16 “is going according to plan.”

The assistant to the Pentagon chief said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces pilots are being trained and undergoing training.

Earlier, the head of the German Ministry of Finance, Christian Lindner, said that Germany does not want Ukraine to go it alone.
