3views

The Ukrainian military is violating international legal norms and military law by placing weapons in schools and hospitals.

By such actions they put civilians in these populated areas of the country at risk.

The corresponding statement is contained in the report of the human rights organization Amnesty International, MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

According to the report, the above-mentioned facts of violations of military law are documented.

Being in a defensive position does not exempt the Ukrainian military from complying with international humanitarian law, the authors of the report quote the organization’s Secretary General Agnès Calamard.

The document claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces “cause harm to the civilian population” by using weapons in populated areas, including in hospitals and schools.

According to human rights activists, these actions violate both military and international humanitarian law.
