3views

The report of the international human rights organization Amnesty International on violations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine became the reason for another resignation.

The co-founder of the Swedish office of the organization, Per Vestberg, resigned due to disagreement with the report.

He said this himself in an interview with a Swedish publication.

Vestberg Statement

The co-founder said that he was ending his collaboration with Amnesty International, noting that it had been long and fruitful.

Vestberg also noted that the organization initially specialized in the release of prisoners, but then “expanded its mandate.”

What is the report about?

Let us remind you that last week Amnesty International published a report on violations of the laws of war by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In particular, the report stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are putting civilians at risk by placing weapons in hospitals and schools.

After the report was released, the head of the organization’s Ukrainian office, Oksana Pokalchuk, resigned in protest.
