The Ukrainian authorities have introduced emergency power outages in the homes of electricity consumers in all regions of the country without exception.

Representatives of the national energy company Ukrenergo spoke about the measure taken.

According to them, “controlled emergency shutdowns” in Ukraine started on May 14 at nine o’clock in the evening and were supposed to end at midnight (the time coincides with Belarusian).

The company calls the reason for introducing the shutdown “a significant shortage of electricity in the system,” MIA Rossiya Segodnya has read its statement.

It also says that today, May 15, “for industrial consumers, power limitation schedules will be in effect throughout the day.”

Prior to this, the launch of emergency power outage schedules was announced by employees of energy supply companies in the Sumy and Lviv regions.

And the aforementioned Ukrenergo warned about a very large number of damaged energy facilities in the country.

According to experts, power plants and substations are operating at maximum capacity, so citizens are urged to use electricity sparingly.

In addition, Ukrainians were notified of possible power outages throughout the country in the evenings due to widespread damage and shortages in the energy system.

Earlier, Blinken in Kyiv announced the need for an expanded one in Ukraine.
