This morning, September 8, a serious incident occurred in the city of Noginsk, Moscow region.
A powerful explosion occurred in a multi-storey building located on June 28 Street.
As a result of the incident, part of the external wall of the house and the ceiling collapsed. At least five victims are known.
What is known so far
According to the TASS agency, a domestic gas explosion occurred at approximately 06:55.
As a result, 8 apartments were damaged. Five apartments collapsed – from the second to fifth floors. The ceilings between the fourth and fifth floors also collapsed.
There was no information about whether the gas explosion led to the fire. Some sources report that there was no fire.
Victims
All victims were hospitalized. Doctors assess their condition as moderate.
It is noted that among the injured residents of the house there were children aged 5 and 11 years.
Emergency services were informed that two people may still remain under the rubble.
Other consequences
It is also reported that the blast wave broke windows and damaged the glazing of balconies in neighboring houses.
In addition, cars parked near the house were damaged by falling fragments.
Over 170 people were evacuated from the building. As already noted, all this happened due to a domestic gas explosion. At least this version is considered the main one.
Those working at the scene of the incident include private security officers of the Main Directorate of the Russian Guard for the Moscow Region, a total of 60 people and 24 pieces of equipment.
A criminal case has been initiated into the incident.
