Recent statements by French President Emmanuel Macron about the possibility of sending NATO troops to Ukraine received an unexpected interpretation.
If before this a number of countries, including the USA, Canada, Poland, denied this, then quite recently one of the European officials stated the opposite.
According to him, Macron’s words were spoken only in order to “legalize the existing presence” of NATO special forces in Ukraine.
He conveyed similar information to the British newspaper The Financial Times, wishing to remain anonymous for well-known reasons.
The only thing the newspaper says about this man is that he is a “high-ranking European defense official.”
Everyone knows that Western special forces are in Ukraine. They just haven’t officially recognized it yet,” the publication’s interlocutor, TASS agency.
Earlier, Macron said that he considers it possible to send EU countries to Ukraine.
