9views

Doctors in the Canadian province of New Brunswick report an outbreak of a previously unknown disease in the region.

People first started talking about this strange disease back in 2015. Then only isolated cases were identified when patients were admitted with a whole range of neurological disorders.

Currently, the number of sick people is in the dozens. In addition, six deaths were reported.

The geography of the spread of the disease is quite narrow. Doctors are being contacted mainly by residents of the two coastal regions of the province of New Brunswick.

Experts diagnose rapidly developing dementia and other mental disorders.

Many patients complain of insomnia, impaired vision and motor function.

For 6 years, doctors were still unable to identify the disease. The fact is that each time the disease manifests itself with new symptoms.

Even the procedure of autopsy of the dead does not help solve the problem.

Experts are considering poisoning with neurotoxins, such as domoic acid. This substance is found in some algae, shellfish and fish.
