An outbreak of bird flu has been identified in a country neighboring Belarus

9views

An outbreak of bird flu has been identified in one of the regions of Lithuania.

A dangerous infection was discovered on a farm in the Jurbarka region, which contains approximately 1,000 birds.

Important information was obtained during laboratory research: veterinarians collected samples of dead individuals for testing.

This was reported by the Lithuanian media with reference to the veterinary and food service of the Baltic country.

Experts note that the disease was detected at an early stage. Due to this, it was possible to stop the sale of poultry in time.

At the moment, the owners of the farm are temporarily deprived of the right to sell animals.

If this measure had not been taken at the right time, a huge number of new outbreaks of avian influenza could have appeared.

According to veterinarians, the deadly pathogen could have passed to poultry from wild birds.

It is worth noting that this is not the first case of bird flu outbreaks being detected in Lithuania in 2021.

At the beginning of the year, the infection was detected on one of the farms near Kaunas.
