It has been almost two months since the leadership of the STF and Congress met and announced an agreement on the implementation of parliamentary amendments. It was just a theater.
The two powers continue to clash over the issue, and there is no prospect of a real agreement.
Today, after keeping the amendments blocked, minister Flávio Dino said that he acts regardless of any political consequences.
The problem is that they are already there. Congress moves forward with a package that restricts the powers of the Supreme Court.
And the Supreme Court keeps Congress’ main instrument of power blocked.
Basically, this is not a debate about the limits of the Constitution in each case. But to what extent does one power tolerate the power of the other.
