Arsen Avakov was officially dismissed from his post as head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

291 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada voted for the corresponding decision at a meeting on July 15.

About this on the official website of the Ukrainian parliament.

Let us remind you that Avakov resigned on Tuesday, July 13.

The Minister thanked every officer, private and employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The head of the department asked to accept his resignation. The request was granted by Ukrainian parliamentarians two days later.

It is worth noting that Arsen Avakov headed the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for 7.5 years.

He took this position back in February 2014.

As a member of the Popular Front party, Avakov retained the ministerial portfolio for a long time even after the political force Servant of the People won a mono-majority in the Rada in the elections and actually gained the right to individually form the government.

It was under Avakov that reform of law enforcement agencies was carried out in Ukraine.

A possible successor to the politician as head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs could be Denis Monastyrsky, a people’s deputy from the Servant of the People party.
