Fierce floods hit Afghanistan, destroying many lives.

In the provinces of Ghor and Faryab alone, located in the northeast of the country, at least 68 people were killed.

The TASS agency reported this with reference to the TOLOnews TV channel.

In his region, the governor of Ghor province, Abdul Wahida Hamas, said floods had killed 50 residents, including women and children.

He noted that the disaster destroyed about 2,000 houses, causing major material damage.

One of the residents of the city of Chagcharan in this province told the TV channel that due to floods, people cannot use drinking water wells.

A spokesman for the governor of another province, Faryab, said flooding in the region had killed 18 people.

Also, floods triggered by heavy rains hit other provinces of the country, including Kabul, Kandahar, Takhar, Uruzgan, Kunar, etc.

It is known that, on behalf of Vladimir Putin, Russia sent humanitarian aid totaling 21 tons to Afghanistan.

Some media write that in total at least 400 people became victims of severe floods in Afghanistan.

Previously, deadly floods hit Brazil, with dozens of deaths reported.
