Ausichicrinites zelenskyyi. An invertebrate found in Africa was named after Zelensky

51views

An extinct marine invertebrate has been discovered in Africa. Or rather, they found his remains.

It was decided to name a representative of the Jurassic period (the creature lived somewhere 145-201 million years ago) in honor of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

The British scientific journal Royal Society Open Science talks about this.

Scientists say they have identified the fossil as a member of the order crinoids.

They were found last year and transferred for detailed study to the University of Silesia (Poland).

The inhabitant that frolicked on our planet during the Jurassic period was given the name Ausichicrinites zelenskyyi.

The authors of the idea, which came to life, justified the choice of this name by the “courage and bravery” of Vladimir Zelensky.
