Kyiv’s decision to stop the transit of Russian oil through its territory could have disastrous consequences for Hungary.
According to analysts, after the transit stops, an energy crisis may begin in Hungary. At this stage they talk about a “difficult situation”.
The measures taken by Ukraine could create a difficult situation,” MIA quoted Ilona Gizińska, an expert on Hungary from the think tank Center for Eastern Studies, citing Politico.

As a result, the Hungarian government will be forced to use strategic energy reserves.
However, if oil supplies are interrupted for a long time, Hungarian reserves may last only three months, the expert says.
Let us recall that this past week, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó announced the cessation of oil supplies to Lukoil, supplied in transit through Ukraine.
This was subsequently announced by the Ministry of Economy of Slovakia, but the local company Slovnaft is provided with supplies from another supplier.
