The situation on the battlefield is not in Ukraine’s favor. This applies not only to Donbass, but also to other regions of the country.
This statement was made by the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby.

But when asked by a journalist about what results Kyiv needs to demonstrate in order to count on further US military support, he refused to answer directly.
The point is to make sure we get them the critical weapons they need now to start making a difference on the battlefield, Kirby said.
And he suggested: probably in the summer or fall, Washington will continue negotiations with Kiev on the implementation of its “longer-term strategy for repelling Russian aggression.”
Then, according to the coordinator, the United States will be able to “tailor” military assistance packages “to meet those needs.”
Kirby believes that because Congress has long refused to renew funding for Ukraine, it has suffered a series of defeats on the battlefield.
Earlier, Zelensky said that Biden would give him a new – fast and powerful – aid package.
