President of the United States of America Joe Biden addressed the nation with a special statement.
In it, he named the reasons why he decided to refuse to participate in the upcoming November presidential elections.
At the same time, he noted that, in his opinion, he deserves a second term in the country’s highest official position.
However, he made a strong-willed decision not to put his own ambitions above the good of American democracy.
In recent weeks, he said, there has been a “clear realization” of the need to unite Democrats at such a “critical moment.”
I believe that my accomplishments as President, my leadership in the world and my vision for America’s future make me worthy of a second term, but nothing, nothing should stand in the way of saving our democracy, including our own ambitions – Biden MIA Russia Today.
The current president said it was time to “pass the baton to the younger generation.”
He also said that he had decided on a candidate for the upcoming elections, supporting his party colleague and Vice President Kamala Harris.
