Biden wants to ask Congress to allocate $100 billion for Israel and Ukraine

19views

Recently it became known about Joe Biden’s desire to request about $100 billion from the US Congress.

The American president wants to use this money for military assistance to Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan, as well as for strengthening the border with Mexico.

TASS reported this with reference to the Bloomberg agency, which in turn refers to its own informed sources.

The latter notified that the details of this request from the leader of the United States are still being developed.

Republicans

However, Bloomberg notes that including funds for border security in the request could help the White House gain support from Republicans.

The fact is that representatives of this party insist on the following: if America is funding aid for other countries, then it must be tied to solving the problem of the growing number of migrants in the States.

Foreign Policy magazine previously wrote that the White House could submit a draft of combined aid for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan for approval by Congress.

It was also noted here that the document includes funding for strengthening the country’s state borders.

There are problems

However, an unnamed legislator noted that there may be problems with the adoption of the document, since some Republicans do not want to combine aid to the named countries in one package.

He added: there are no questions in Congress regarding support for Israel and funding for border security.

But regarding the next aid to Ukraine, Republicans are far from unanimous and are skeptical about this, believing that Washington has already provided Kyiv with sufficient assistance.

Earlier, the media wrote about Tel Aviv’s request: it requested emergency assistance in the amount of $10 billion from the United States.
