The head of the American State Department, Antony Blinken, named the condition under which Kyiv will negotiate with Moscow.
Or rather, he voiced Russia’s actions, which, in the diplomat’s opinion, could help the Ukrainian authorities “enter” the designated process.
Blinken said the following: Kyiv may indeed agree to negotiations if Russia takes the initiative.
He also noted that only Ukrainians will decide how exactly the conflict will end and “where the lines will be drawn.”
When it comes to negotiations, it takes two to tango. So far we have seen no signs that Vladimir Putin is interested in diplomacy. If he wants, then, I think, the Ukrainians will be the first to enter into negotiations,” a diplomat from MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
He added: his country will support Ukraine if it announces its readiness for negotiations.
At the same time, the Secretary of State draws attention to the fact that Kyiv is not giving up its territorial claims.
