The North Atlantic Alliance is developing a plan for simultaneous participation in several conflicts.
The plan is expected to be adopted at a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels on February 14-15.
The agency reports this with reference to a high-ranking source.
What plan is NATO preparing?
According to the agency, at a meeting, the heads of the NATO Defense Ministry will sign a secret manual containing various action plans in the event of parallel participation of alliance countries in a high-intensity conflict, based on the mutual defense obligations provided for in Article 5 of the organization’s charter, as well as in conflicts outside the area of responsibility NATO.
It is noted that the document will spell out the requirements for military investments by allies.
They will be asked to redirect military investment to the sectors most critical to collective defense, such as missile and air defense and armored forces, as well as increase investment in digital modernization.
According to the agency’s interlocutor, after agreeing on all the provisions of the document, the alliance command will develop more detailed requirements for each country.
