39views

In the new strategy of the North Atlantic Alliance, Russia may be recognized as an immediate threat.

Also, the new NATO strategy plans to mention China and its ties with Russia.

This was reported, citing an unnamed representative of the alliance.

According to the agency, in addition to recognizing Russia as a threat and mentioning China, the document plans to prescribe measures to support neighboring countries that are vulnerable to coercion and aggression.

The adoption of a new NATO strategy is scheduled for the organization’s June summit in Madrid.

In the previous version of NATO strategy from 2010, Russia was designated as a partner.

Bloomberg notes that NATO countries do not exclude the possibility of restoring relations with Russia if it changes its behavior.
