According to the agency, the United States is supplying Ukraine with new NATO equipment, which can be described as offensive, with the condition that Kyiv will not use it for a counter-offensive on Russian territory or striking deep into Russia.
It is noted that Western countries are cautious in choosing weapon models for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the main priority for the United States and its allies is to prevent direct confrontation with Russia.
Bloomberg also points out that the announcement of the supply of new types of infantry fighting vehicles, such as Marder and Bradley, to Ukraine was a serious shift in the rhetoric of the United States, France and Germany, because previously NATO countries had refused to supply such equipment.
Let us recall that in December the American edition of the Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reported that the United States modified the HIMARS MLRS supplied to Kyiv so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could not use them for attacks deep into Russia.
According to the WSJ, the White House considered this necessary to reduce the risk of conflict with Russia.
