Bodies of COVID-19 victims recovered from India’s Ganges River

Six bodies were recovered from the Ganges River. The cause of death of these people was coronavirus infection.

The incident occurred in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, foreign media reported.

It is not possible to establish the identities of the dead: the remains were badly decomposed.

The total number of bodies found in the Indian river during the past month was about one hundred.

It is noted that relatives of many people who died from COVID-19 in India are forced to dump their bodies in the river due to lack of funds to cremate the bodies or bury them.
