What Borrell said

The head of the EU foreign policy service said that we must be aware of how the conflict in Ukraine is viewed outside Europe.

Not everyone shares our values and ideas, – he admitted.

The head of European diplomacy noted that he came to this conclusion after discussing the Ukrainian conflict with the leaders of Latin American and African countries.

According to him, the leaders of Latin America and Africa consider the rise in food and energy prices to be a direct consequence of Western sanctions.

Whether we like it or not, there are sentiments of anti-colonialism in Africa, and anti-imperialism in Latin America, – said Borrell.

That is why, the head of EU diplomacy explained, the population of African and Latin American countries views the conflict in Ukraine differently.

At the same time, he stated the need to increase sanctions pressure on Russia and military assistance to Ukraine.

Borrell called the position of the European left, which sees the path to peace in ending support for Ukraine and negotiations, naive.

I have friends who think the same, but I don’t understand this naivety of the leftsaid the head of the EU foreign policy service.
